Cenote Dos Ojos - Deutsche Tauchschule in Playa del Carmen Make sure to check out some of our other Mexico articles to fuel your wanderlust. Each was different form the last, from shallow two-meter deep cruises through complex, otherworldly speleotherms to deep,spooky dives into clouds of stinging hydrogen sulfide. The instructors, Rimas and Hugo, were all very nice and helpful. We did not have previous experience cavern diving, so Hugo gave us extensive safety briefings and lead us through 3 caverns. The first day was to see the Cenotes, the second was to diving off of Cozumel. We pay the cenote entrance fee at the entrance of the Cenotes Dos Ojos Park. I highly recommend the night dive- the sea really comes alive at night and the stars are beautiful when you surface! We would definitely recommend Blue Life if you\'re looking to dive the Cenotes! Recommended 100%. Cenotes!!!! Hugo, Sarah, and Rimas were all great dive guides, and Eliah was with snorklers who had a fun time as well. The name Cenote El Pit really doesnt do this cenote justice. Cenotes provide one of the most unique diving opportunities in the world. From the surface looking down you can see the infinite abyss below. Wevefound they are the best option and have a great cancelation policy.*. I dove with a 5mm suit and was cold, so I used Blue Life\'s vest and hood as well, which kept me toasty and comfortable. Fernanda is great to communicate with in advance of your trip and help with anything you need. My guide Pete was very experienced and made me feel very comfortable and safe. Thank you also to all the other staff members who always responded within a few hours or even less to my emails. We lucked out and had 2 perfectly calm days in a row! Dive guide Hugo was awesome and made you feel welcomed! We highly recommend Blue Life! On my last day blue life let me dive on nitrox for free because I had gone on 8 dives in the past 2 days. Our Sidemount course with Hugo was scheduled for 2 days, but he was prepared to go an extra day if needed. Wonderful experience. My experience with Blue Life started weeks before traveling to Playa Del Carmen. If I had more time available, I would be looking at diving more of these sites and have no hesitation in recommending Blue Life or Hugo to my diving friends. The staff is great, they\'ve always been amazingly helpful and my dives have always been a pleasure. Finally Karla and Frank are a really lovely friendly couple and make a great team. He and his staff are fantastic. In conclusion, I highly recommend diving with Blue Life if you are looking to dive in PDC and the area, small groups and great guides. On June 27, 2014, and June 28, 2014, I did three and four dives respectively with Blue Life divers. This is a very special shop and I can\'t wait to go back. Cenote Dos Ojos Snorkeling, Diving and Tours | Ko'ox Diving It is part of the system Sac Actun, the longest underwater cave system in the world at 364 kms. However, they were removed for conservation studies by INAH (Instituto Nacional de Antropologia e Historia) and are now at the Museo Nacional de Antropologia in Mexico City. Our dive masters (we had 3 different dive masters) were absolutely fantastic. Thanks to Hugo for an awesome experience. Because my first experience was so good, I booked another dive trip a few days later to dive in the Dos Ojos cenote. Dive. I originally was scheduled to go with another highly rated dive company here on TripAdvisor, but after they no called and no showed on me, I quickly contacted Blue Life diving to see if they could accommodate me for a couple of dives later in the week. In our case this included finding us accommodation at a hefty discount, lending us laptops & iPads to complete PADI training, re-scheduling training at short notice and so on. If you have to prioritize your diving, Cenotes should be number 1! Frank, Leo, and Devin were so incredibly accommodating - they asked me what I wanted to experience, and then went out of their way to not only make it happen, but make it absolutely perfect. You will have an amazing time, see amazing things, become a better diver, and have friends for when you return. He even spent a little time at the end to help me with my back fin technique, which I still can\'t do, but not from lack of effort on Daniel\'s part. Best Cenote diving experience! But regardless of the location, the Blue Life team made sure that my needs were met. Pete picked us up, on time, from our hotel in Akumal and drove us to Dos Ojos. Sometimes they're open air pits and sometimes they're caved in caverns. BlueLife did not disappoint. The pit is a legendary dive that many divers have on their bucket list. Would definitely come back! Blue Life had a package that accommodated us being able to do both - perfect! There are some great dive operations around there but it is very clear to me why these guys are number 1. We did the Pit and Dos Ojos, two different types of Cenotes, but both amazing in their own right. and Hugo was amazingly patient and caring as I struggled with Side-Mount. On the second day, there was a couple that was having a hard time communicating at the restaurant. With the vast network of underground rivers throughout the peninsula, they also occur underground. The main draw to the Pit Cenote is the beautiful light beams that dance as they illuminate this deep cavern dive. I had a tour from Isla Mujeres of 9 people to take to the cenotes in Tullum with less than a days notice and also only 1 day in which to tour and return. In total we did ten dives with Blue Life. The Pit Cenote is located inside the Dos Ojos Natural Park, 22km north of Tulum, about 54km south of Playa del Carmen, 28 km from Xpu Ha, and 278 km from Merida in the Riviera Maya. Cenotes diving isn\'t cheap, but I really would recommend it. We did two days of reef and ship wreck diving, wandered over to Cozumel for a day and then we started in on the cenotes! El Pit was a giant hole that had a thick sulfur layer around 30m(??) You can tell this guy loves his job. Very good for advanced divers I called five different dive shops before choosing this one. When some timing issues came up for me, Frank was gracious to work around them and schedule me at a time that worked for me. The part we dive with with the divers goes down to 180 feet deep. Access via the Cenotes Dos Ojos Park entrance which is located about 10 km (6 miles) south of our dive shop in Akumal Pueblo. Frank, I\'m coming back and eventually I want to work with you guys. Not only was the cavern dive spectacular, but Dominic is the best guide we could have! Very friendly and tried to accommodate everyone. They are the best! Cenote The Pit + Dos Ojos - Best of the Classics - 2 Dives Our family had a great dive experience with Blue Life diving the Dos Ojos Cenote in Tulum. Second day we dove two cenotes closer to Tulum, The Pit & Dos Ojos, and it was just mind-blowing. If you are already a diver and haven\'t experienced the Playa/Cozumel/Tulum area of Mexico, you need to do it soon. This is squared away dive outfit and we will use them again. At a depth of 25 to 32 metres, you will find a cloud of hydrogen sulphide. Felt like Indiana Jones My wife and I did our advanced water certification as well as Cenote diving with Blue Life. They are helpful, knowledgeable, easy to communicate with, professional, etc, etc. Cave Diving in the Cenotes of Riveria Maya I just returned from a week of diving with the staff at Blue Life Diving. We decided based on the prompt and genuine replies that we would dive with Blue Life. We dived with Blue Life back in December and they were absolutely amazing!
Diving in Dos Ojos, The Bat and The Pit Cenotes from Riviera Maya As a newly certified diver, I was nervous about a couple of the cenote dives, but I had an amazing experience because the staff was helpful and attentive. On the recommendation of Fernanda, I decided to work towards my PADI advanced open water certificate since another girl in our group was doing the same. The other two dive shops did not respond at all to my e-mails, while Frank called me, took time to answer my questions, and worked with my schedule. Hugo was the man, he knew everything about everywhere we went. Both of the guides were personable, safety conscious and very knowledgable about the area and its dive sites. The staff were very friendly and our dive guide Hugo was awesome. He was helpful and informative and organised for Pete to take my friend and I the following day. But anyway, we got all we want and dive in the most interest cenotes. They have all sorts of different dives, from reef to sharks to cenotes. I have been recommending this to everyone since returning home and I will definitely be back in Playa to dive with the Blue Life guys again! Cesar was a competent and reassuring guide with whom I would be happy to dive again. Frank is a professional, thorough, and confidence-inspiring diver, guide and instructor. If you can look past the unflattering name, youll find one of the most unique and beautiful cenotes to dive in Mexico. My husband and I went to Playa del Carmen for New Year holidays, and our goal was to dive as much as possible. Daniel was also very careful to explain the history and details of his sites. The second day we did 3 cenote dives. We were lucky enough to head over to Playa for a day of cenote diving. I did The Pit and Dos Ojos with Hugo. My dive guide Sarah was excellent. Immediately they asked us what we wanted to see and created an itinerary for just that. We had the chance to dive with Karla, Frank and Pete, and all of the dives went very well. I did a Skill Refresh, PADI Advanced Open Water, SDI Enriched Air Nitrox, and Los Cenotes. Blue Life made it so easy by providing all the equipment, snacks and great sandwiches. Cenote Dos Ojos in Tulum might easily be the most famous cenote in the world. Karla and Frank turned around a last minute dive request for me, and I was able to dive The Pit and Cenotes Dos Ojos today with Pete. I love diving in Cozumel. This is a great trip for people who want to either plan group dives or want to take their own solo vacation and dive with Cristobals! We had scheduled many dives to be done throughout the week. Tunnels and caverns formed throughout the years. This should show what I mean: I came down to Playa to dive the Cenotes and hit my 100th dive. Great communications with Karla and lots of personal attention from Frank and especially Peter who was our guide for the Cenotes. Cenote Diving Playa del Carmen | Cavern Diving | PIT | Dos Ojos | Angelita The first one I made mistakes (lost my weight belt, accidentally inflated vest when trying to deflate, panicked a bit in moments for some reason) and she was with me and corrected me with great patience and skill the first dive, which was eye-poppingly beautiful (Santa Ana Wall), and we were able to have a great time with no blips the second dive. Cenote diving was amazing, really felt like we were in an Indiana Jones movies, lol. I had an amazing afternoon and would recommend Blue Life without hesitation. Fernanda, the shop & dive coordinator, was very prompt @ answering all my pre-trip questions, like she wanted us to join them, what a concdept. A favorite of many divemasters, the pit cenote is a special and unique cenote to dive. I also enjoyed spending time with the others at Blue Life (Fernanda, Rimas, Frank, etc.) We did our first dive, and while we did not see any turtles, our guide Hugo was awesome. Safe and Fun Diving We did six cenote dives in two days with Hugo, and it was a fantastic experience. Great experience This place is great. This was my second dive trip planned with Blue Life and just as I expected, I had a fantastic time. There are large signs along the highway for Dos Ojos Cenote, turn in here and follow the road to reach the fee & registration building. * Gear: Dive gear all well maintained. (it was so good we dove four of them!) This isn\'t the norm with other dive shops. To get the best shots of this cenote you should go early morning and be there for when it opens by 8 am. The distance from Tulum is roughly 13.6 miles (22 km) and roughly 34 miles (54 km) from Playa Del Carmen.
